Rocking a Pop of Purple

 

 

 

It's that time where, as a beauty lover, you most probably got some new make up for Christmas and you just want to play with it all. My mum got me a set with all the Urban Decay 24/7 Eye Kohl Pencils in. I'm a huge fan of wearing kohl liner in all sorts of ways anyway but this made me want to experiment with all the different colours that you get in the pack. I was far too excited swatching them all on Christmas day.

I kept the lid pretty neutral and just deepened up my crease a little with a soft brown and lined my upper lash line thinly with a dark brown. For the pop of purple, I took the kohl pencil in my waterline and smudged underneath my eye and blended out.

 

I love how this look turned out and proud of myself for trying colour!

 

P.S. This would totally look amazing on green eyes *heart emoji*

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquers

 

Hi guys! I saw a fellow blogger talk about one of these a while back, and I was quite interested in picking them as they look like they could be a dupe for the Lime Crime Velvetines. I wouldn't be able to compare as I don't actually own any Lime Crime as its not available in the UK but I wanted to try them any how (one day I'll get my hands on them).

 

As you can see, I got colours Reckless & Kooky.

 

Reckless is a beautiful bright red, it actually looks a lot darker in the tube to how it comes out on the lips.

Kooky is a straight up purple. Not a light lilac nor a deep purple, a middle ground purple.

 

The formula is a matte, very fast drying, long lasting formula. At first I couldn't actually get these swatches off my hand, the only thing that did it was MAC Cleanse Off Oil, of course you think, great! I won't have to top up all day! However, I found that it was too matte that it was sticky and when I accidently rubbed my lips together (as you automatically do) it rubbed off parts of each lip which sucked.

Overall, for the price (£3.00) I think this is a product to check out, however, there are some issues with the staying power and it rubbing away. Saying that, I have yet to try it with lip balm or other products.

It's that time, all the Christmas parties are starting! Mine is actually this Friday but I wanted to blog about what makeup I was going to wear but would not have the time nor the light to do it next Friday.

 

I went for a red lip and neutral eye as you can see. I love the lashes and the definition to the eyes.

 

 

Lid:

 

To create the eyes I took 'All that Glitters' all over the eyes then 'Sultry' in the crease buffed right out to the brow bone. I then used 'Sexy' (a beautiful dark red/purple) building up the colour and intensity in the crease. I tried to keep the inner corner and lid as light as possible by topping up with 'All that Glitters' to finish.

 

Lower Lash Line:

 

For the lower lash line I mixed 'Sultry' & 'Sexy' on a pencil brush and blended under the eye. To darken even more, I took some kohl along the lower lash line to blended out with the same pencil brush.

L'oreal Super Liner Review/Swatch

I'm by no means an expert at liner, in fact, it's one of things I kind of suck at. Give me a kohl liner to smudge any day. But there is something about have a nice clean, crisp liner look.

 

Because of my lack of skills I really struggle with finding a good liner that works for me. I've had a few on my list to test out, but came across this on Feel Unique and remember hearing A LOT of gurus and bloggers saying how good it was.

 

Boy they were not wrong. This makes my liner look pro, like legit. I actually stop and look at it in the mirror and say to myself 'did I really do that?'.

 

 

(L'Oreal Super Liner Black Lacquer Waterproof)

I'm obviously not good and swatching a straight line though...
 

 

The formula is super long lasting and has a shiny finish, which I'm not a huge fan of, but I can cope for now by using a matte black eyeshadow over top.

 

When I say long lasting, it withstands me rubbing my eyes all day from 7am - 6pm, not bad going!

 

 

 

 

I would totally recommend this product for beginners like me!

Oh my goodness, holy moly. I've been wanting to try the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks for a long time but I can never choose which shade. So this is like a dream for me.....

This is something that's been on my list for what feels like a couple of years and when hunting for the above picture, I saw that The Watch Hut have it on sale.... EEEEEEK. Maybe next payday!?!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush

 

I love this body scrub, this is my third one maybe? It's not a gentle scrub by any means but it smells amazing (brown sugar & lime), and really does get the job done. If you have fake tan to remove, this is the one. I've just been on holiday so I have a natural tan at the moment but all summer I used the St Moriz tan and after a week and its a bit touch and go (we've all been there) this scrub literally melts it. I think I'm going to try some of the body shop scrubs before I re-purchase, just to test the water!

 

Bed Head Headrush

 

I've finally finished this product after what feels like a lifetime. I did enjoy it, it smells lovely and works well to give your hair shine, but I just didn't end up reaching for it a lot. Personally, I like matte tussled hair!

 

VO5 Plump it up

 

I feel as if I can never not use this product again. I have long, fine hair and getting volume is a mission and a half. With this, I just spray into my roots on freshly washed and work in and it gives instant volume and texture. IT IS LIFE.

 

Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I've just finished another falsies, HOWEVER, I've recently discovered the waterproof version which holds a curl much better so think I will be opting for that in future!
 

Chanel Chance en Tendre Perfume

I've never been more sad to finish a product than I have with this. This is my all time favourite perfume but I now no longer have a back up which makes life hard. It's a beautiful scent, it's so fresh and lovely, it's hard to describe. I'm hoping this is under my tree this year, if not, hopefully I can get a bargain in the boxing day sale!

To create this look I wanted a flawless, contoured base. I used my concealer in a light and dark shade to conceal, highlight and contour my face. Of course I blended until my arm ached!

For the eyes I used the Colour Tattoo as a base and packed on woodwinked all over the lid. To add some warmth I took cranberry and blended from the outer corners inward.

Eyeliner, mascara and lashes later and the look ties together.

I used the black kohl and some cranberry shadow to smoke out the lower lashline.

I think this look is perfect for any Christmas or Festive parties, I'll be wearing something similar to my Christmas party.
