Empties #1

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush

I love this body scrub, this is my third one maybe? It's not a gentle scrub by any means but it smells amazing (brown sugar & lime), and really does get the job done. If you have fake tan to remove, this is the one. I've just been on holiday so I have a natural tan at the moment but all summer I used the St Moriz tan and after a week and its a bit touch and go (we've all been there) this scrub literally melts it. I think I'm going to try some of the body shop scrubs before I re-purchase, just to test the water!

Bed Head Headrush

I've finally finished this product after what feels like a lifetime. I did enjoy it, it smells lovely and works well to give your hair shine, but I just didn't end up reaching for it a lot. Personally, I like matte tussled hair!

VO5 Plump it up

I feel as if I can never not use this product again. I have long, fine hair and getting volume is a mission and a half. With this, I just spray into my roots on freshly washed and work in and it gives instant volume and texture. IT IS LIFE.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I've just finished another falsies, HOWEVER, I've recently discovered the waterproof version which holds a curl much better so think I will be opting for that in future!

Chanel Chance en Tendre Perfume

I've never been more sad to finish a product than I have with this. This is my all time favourite perfume but I now no longer have a back up which makes life hard. It's a beautiful scent, it's so fresh and lovely, it's hard to describe. I'm hoping this is under my tree this year, if not, hopefully I can get a bargain in the boxing day sale!

For the eyes I used the Colour Tattoo as a base and packed on woodwinked all over the lid. To add some warmth I took cranberry and blended from the outer corners inward.

Eyeliner, mascara and lashes later and the look ties together.
I used the black kohl and some cranberry shadow to smoke out the lower lashline.

I think this look is perfect for any Christmas or Festive parties, I'll be wearing something similar to my Christmas party.
I hope you like it!

Top 5 Favourite Autumn Nail Polishes

Barry M - Berry Cosmo (Dark Purple)
Essence - Love Me, Cupcake (Purple Toned Grey)
Barry M - Treasure Chest (Foil Gold Glitter)
Nails Inc - Motcomb Street (Deep Navy Blue)
Essie - Style Hunter (Bright Pink Toned Red)

These are my current favourite nail polishes for Autumn. I love Autumn nail colours and  I love the deep vampy colours that you get to wear.

I'm really into putting the gold foil polish on one nail on each hand at the moment as a cute accent nail type of thing. It looks festive but not too much (considering it's still November).

I'm looking for some new Autumnal colours so let me know what your favourites are below!

Makeup Revolution Palettes

I recently ordered two palettes from Makeup Revolution, a brand that I have not heard a lot about before. I had heard good things about their palettes and looked online to find out that they are only £4.00 each! I will let the next few pictures do the talking.

Above Make Revolution Iconic 3 Palette

Above Makeup Revolution Essential Mattes Palette

As you can see from the pictures, there are some beautiful shades and the shadows are highly pigmented. I find that with cheaper shadows you can swatch them and they are nicely pigmented but you go to blend and the shadow just disappears into thin air. Luckily, this isn't the case with these palettes. The shadows are lovely and buttery. Some of the shades are slightly powdery compared to my MAC shadows, but nothing you can't work with.

My favourite shade is the 6th shade in the Iconic 3 Palette, as you can see from the swatch, it's a beautiful shimmy gold/brown, very similar to MAC Amber Lights.

My local Superdrug don't stock this brand yet, so I ordered my online. Its free delivery over £10 which is amazing!

They do a Matte Brights Palette which looks like it has similar shades to the Urban Decay Electric Palette which is awesome!

Next on my list from this brand is the metal foil eye shadows which look like a dupe for the Stila ones.

Have you tried this brand? What do you think?

The Battle of Straight Lashes

My girls/guys who have straight or even pointing down lashes will understand the struggle. It's real.
You could get the mascara that everyone is raving about and be so disappointed. Or you could get the most expensive eyelash curlers then apply your mascara and it's back to the beginning.
This has been my battle since I started using makeup. It was the first thing I was aware of and it has annoyed me since. My lashes are average length and stubbornly straight.
I've recently discovered a combo that keeps my lashes curled and amazing ALL DAY. No joke.
I feel that both your eyelash curler AND mascara are very important. It wasn't until I was using any old curler and a good mascara and I switched to the old faithful and extremely raved about Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler that I almost fell off my chair.
I'm currently using the Maybelline Rocket WATERPROOF Mascara (the waterproof part is important as the normal version doesn't do squat) but there are many mascaras out there that hold a curl wonderfully. This mascara is good and held a semi curl if I tortured my lashes with my drugstore curler but as soon as I switched to the Shu Uemura curler, everything changed. My lashes were super SUPER curled all day.
I did try using these curlers with a different volumizing mascara (L'Oreal Miss Manga) and my curl just limped after a minute.

Pictured is the result of using the Shu Uemura Curler & Maybelline Rocket Waterproof Mascara

I hoped you liked this post, please let me know of any products that I'd find useful!

NARS Laguna Bronzer
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer
Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
The Balm Nude Tude Palette Shadow in Sultry & Seductive
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Lush
MUA Liquid Liner
Maybelline Rocket Mascara
Shu Uemura Lash Curlers
Bourjois Rouge Velvet in Hot Pepper
MAC Fix +

The holiday/party season is fast approaching and I am SO excited to play with makeup (GLITTER). I wanted to do a look that was kind of 'dipping your toes in' party makeup for any early parties or events you may have but you feel it's still a little to early to go the full hog.

1) To start this look off I primed my skin as always, use what works for you. I used a medium coverage foundation and used concealer on any problem skin. I powdered my T-Zone and spritzed some Fix+ to finish my base.

2) For my eyes I took 'Seductive' (shimmery brown) all over my lid and 'Sultry' (matte medium brown) in the crease and kept building up the colour until I was happy. I took 'Sultry' onto my lower lash lane and applied a dark brown kohl liner in my waterline & tightline.

3) To finish the eyes I applied a liquid liner and created a small flick (heads up, the MUA Liquid Liner is pants - however their eyeshadow palettes are awesome) and curled my lashes to death and applied lashings of mascara.

4) To finish the face I contoured lightly, filled in my brows, applied a touch of blush to the apples of my cheek and then the best bit, the lip colour! You need to build this but once it is one, its lovely and does not budge!

I hope you liked this post, if you did please click the heart!

What are your favourite party products? Please let me know in the comments, I'd love to know!

Anastisia Brow Wiz - Worth the Hype?

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown

I'm sure you've all heard about this product before. Anastasia Beverly Hills has been talked about everywhere lately, known mainly for their amazing brow products.

I've always loved my brows up until the past 6 months or so when I've attempted to fill them and look back at pictures and think 'oh goodness, what was I thinking'. Now I feel as if I've mastered my own brows, I can really appreciate how much it adds to shaping your face and tying it your make up.

I've only ever tried drugstore brow products before, like the Rimmel Brow Pencil or little brow palettes and used an angle brush to fill in my brows. Using a brow shadow espically, I found my brows used to turn into one big blob of brown, not cute.

I decided to just bite bullet and get the brow wiz. I was torn between that or the pomade but I've always got a long with pencil type products better so thought the brow wiz would be more suitable.

This product is REALLY worth the hype for me. At first I had to get used to it but after a couple of times of using it, I tried my old trusty Rimmel pencil and was disgusted and had to re-do my brows with the brow wiz. I took a before and after picture (below) which I thought might show how it works a lot better!

Have you tried this product yet? What do you think?

Zoeva Classic Eye Brush Set

When it comes to brushes, I'm a bit of an obsessive. I'm constantly on the hunt for new brushes to see if it does something magical to the way my makeup is applied. I also like to have plenty if I get lazy with brush cleaning day!

You've probably all heard of Zoeva brushes, I think every YouTube Beauty Guru uses them (for good reason). I wanted to try them a while back but they weren't available easily in the UK without a huge shipping cost. I was recently browsing Beauty Bay and saw that they have started stocking Zoeva!*cheers* This made me happy! Also that they have started stocking their makeup which I'm excited to try.

To start I purchased the eye brush set to dip my toes to see if I liked the brushes. You get 6 different eye brushes that all do different things. I'm really loving these, perfect for a beginner. You have a flat brush to apply a base colour to the lid, a fluffy brush to blend (which is very similar to the MAC 217 but a bit fluffier) and different brushes that you could use for liner, brows etc.

For the price, this is such good value for money. I think it was around the £33.00 mark but cannot remember exactly. Beauty Bay are currently out of stock but I've noticed they re-stock quite quickly (I don't stalk the website or anything...).

You also get a little brush bag which is cute and handy for travelling!

Set includes:

227 Luxe Soft Definer
322 Brow Line
317 Wing Liner
315 Fine Liner
234 Luxe Smoky Shader
231 Luxe Petit Crease

Avaliable at:
